Super hero nursing home

As you have probably figured out from earlier posts I am a massive fan of comics and all things superhero. Yet through all the years that superhero comics have been around for, not once has anyone ever thought of any superhero ageing (I know I haven't), not until I stumbled across the work of contemporary French artist Gilles Barbier and his installation L'Hospice, which depicts life like wax sculptures of the ageing superheros, in a nursing home type setting, with the rug arm chair, side table and TV.
These superheros are no longer chasing down the bad guys and saving the world, instead Barbier has them spending their final days in a superhero nursing home. Among them there is Catwoman, Mr Fantastic, The Incredible Hulk, Wonder Woman, Captain America and Superman.

L'Hospice

It's a sad day when you see some of your favourite superheros towards the end of their time. Where Superman can barely walk being aided by a walking frame, The Incredible Hulk vegetates in his wheelchair, Mr Fantastic dangles his overstreched limbs while reading a book, Catwoman taking a nap in the chair, Captain America lays in a coma like state on a hospital gurney with a drip attached and a haggered Wonder Woman attending him (or just proping herself up with the gurney.)
